Affordable & Fun Things to do in Philadelphia!

WELCOME BACK! Hi! Okay enough with the introductions. I’m just going to get right into this blog because it doesn’t really need a description!

  1. Take a trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art
    1. Take a picture with the Rocky statue before entering
    2. Get your workout in by actually climbing the steps
    3. Go during the Pay What You Wish days (First Sunday of every month from 10am-5pm OR Wednesdays from 5pm-8:45pm)
    4. For more information on visiting the museum go to: http://www.philamuseum.org/visit/
  2. Take a trip to Old City
    1. Take a picture with the Liberty Bell
    2. Visit Independence Hall (they have a weird schedule with when you need tickets so instead of typing it out check it out here → https://www.nps.gov/inde/planyourvisit/independencehall.htm)
    3. Grab a giant slice of pizza at Big Ass Slices because it is just an experience! I love their pizza. (Address: 218 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106)
    4. Lastly, get some ice cream at The Franklin Fountain because it is nearby AND it has a reputation for being one of the best ice cream places in Pennsylvania! (Address: 116 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106)
  3. Grab a couple friends and head to Reading Terminal Market to EAT!
    1. Honestly I could try and influence you to try certain foods but I think it is better for everyone for you to just explore!
  4. Go to a game or concert at Lincoln Financial Field!
    1. Okay this one may not be affordable (depending on why/when you go there) but the Eagles were just the Super Bowl Champions so I think everyone should go and at least tailgate outside of the stadium.
  5. Walk through an ACTUAL heart at the Franklin Institute
    1. If you are nerdy then this one is definitely for you and although the tickets can get sort of pricey (at least for college students), sometimes there is free entry (not sure how I got in for free that one time . . . hmm . . .) so make sure to look out for any Philadelphia deals! (website: https://www.fi.edu/pricing)
  6. Go window shopping or actually shopping on Walnut Street
    1. From stores like Urban Outfitters to Apple (two of my all-time favorites) you can shop all sorts of brands on Walnut Street
    2. After hitting the stores, I suggest grabbing some food and a blanket and enjoying Rittenhouse Square’s nature
  7. IF you are of age, head to Fishtown and enjoy Frankford Hall (beer garden) and SugarHouse Casino (okay maybe not that affordable)!
    1. Honestly, Fishtown is nice to walk around in as well so even if you are underage you can check out other restaurants in the area
    2. Frankford Hall: https://frankfordhall.com
    3. SugarHouse Casino: https://www.sugarhousecasino.com
  8. Head to South Street, buy some Big Gay Ice Cream and then take some cute pictures of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens!
    1. Big Gay Ice Cream: https://biggayicecream.com
    2. Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens: https://www.phillymagicgardens.org/buy-tickets/ (there are different prices based on if you are a student or not so check out the website so you don’t miss any discounts!) ((P.S. It’s Philly Free Week!!))

Okay so obviously there are so many other things to do in Philly, and honestly I may have to put them in another blog post later! But as for now this is what I have and I hope you use this as your adventure guide. If you end up going on any of these adventures, snag a picture and tag #femalesoffiladelphia on Instagram, I’d love to see what everyone is up to in Philly!
